MAXStick® – The Global Leader in Liner Free Labels™
Important – Please Read!
While using MAXStick® does not require any sort of special care for your printer, your printer, itself, absolutely does need care to continue working properly. Think of that old pair of sneakers in your closet. Do the soles feel like the day you bought them, or is the rubber hardening with age?
Your printer, too, has bits, pieces, and parts that are affected by age, use, and climate (in the kitchen? hot? humid? crumbs? dust? greasy fingers?). When a few MAXStick® users reported that their printers had issues, further discussions revealed that the client had used multiple label products (including other liner-free label products) that do NOT have the guaranteed certification that comes with using MAXStick®. Using other products in the printer could create performance issues.
Using MAXStick® does not force any form of cleaning procedure to achieve proper printing results. HOWEVER, an occasional printhead and platen roller wipe-down with a Q-tip and rubbing alcohol will get rid of that kitchen grime that could eventually cause problems.
How to clean an EPSON TM-L90 Series Printer
Keep in mind that many of the MAXStick® certified printers listed below have been in widespread use for more than a decade. The Epson TM-T88 Restick printer is now 12+ years old! Since a good quality thermal printer is critical to your business success, consider proactively replacing it after 5-8 years before it becomes a problem.
The below-listed printers have been MAXStick® certified through a comprehensive and extensive series of tests completed by each manufacturer and in the MAX International Environmental Laboratory Testing Facility. Please do not rely on ‘Guarantees’ from other direct thermal products. Their products might work for the short term, but their material can be extremely damaging to your printer’s thermal head and rollers and can shorten the life of the printer significantly.
Failure to use a certified printer with MAXStick® will result in substandard print results and a shortened life of the printer. Also, be aware that many second-hand printers have come to the market as restaurants have closed. In particular, a used Epson TM-T88IV ReStick should be thoroughly tested before purchase as these workhorses tended to be used in harsh environments under tough conditions and may not perform satisfactorily as a second-hand device. If you have any questions on printer compatibility, please contact us.
Are you a printer manufacturer and have a printer that you would like to MAXStick® certified? Then please contact us at MSI@maxintl.com. We have an in-house environmental chamber that allows us to run numerous tests with all of our MAXStick® products in high heat/high humidity conditions. You will receive a complete report detailing the tests and the results. There is no cost to complete the test, but be aware that the test takes upwards of 6 weeks to complete in order to do a thorough evaluation. Certifying your printer with MAXStick® can open doors of opportunity as we have been approached by numerous industries across the globe looking for an eco-friendly alternative to linered labels and abrasive liner-free labels and the printers that work with that alternative: MAXStick®.
